Too cool for School!

When I first saw the challenge over at 365 Cards to use note paper, it really had me stumped. Then I remembered these fabulous Fun-Tastic papers! The rest then fell into place!

The letters and rub-ons are also from the same range.

Another card with the same papers can also be found here.

Glad for the grad!

I started with a mat from the DCWV All Dressed Up set (rather appropriately) and mounted this on black glossy card. I then made the mortar board out of the same black glossy card and attached a tassle with a black dovecraft brad. Next I rolled up white card and added the red ribbon and attached this to the card on top of a black satin ribbon from my stash.

The mortar board didn't look right on it's own so I cut out a circle to mount it on and instead decided to use the circle as a person (I think I have seen too many of the Bupa ads!) and added the hat jauntily. Finally I used vellum alphabet stickers to create the sentiment and mounted this on the same white and black card I used for the Graduand and their hat!

Almost forgot, I then added 3 little black gems in the top corner, just to finish it off.

You know, when I first saw this challenge I just knew I would have to do it in one of the University of Manchester colours (pre/post merger). I have to say, I absolutely loved my time at University and I would highly recommend Manchester as the place to be! Class of 2006 rocks!

365 Cards: Day 45

Tri-Fold Card

I discovered today that I can use my newly aquired round corner punch to create scallops! You may see them quite a lot on my next few cards because I think it looks lovely, and it is so easy to do! After scalloping the edges of the card I added a strip of American Craft paper in the centre and mounted a gold peel-off onto mirror card.

On the outside I added 3 matching tiny rose peel-offs and mounted a larger version on gold card and cut it out. I then added this to the ribbon using 3D foam

365 Cards Day 15: Super Sketchy Sunday

If I wasn't playing catch up on these I would be really looking forward to Super Sketchy Day as it really pushes me to try new things, which is lovely, just like this little creation.
